Welcome to the website of Europe's first Independent Natural Gas Storage Companyline

Continental Gas Storage (CGS) was established to provide non-integrated flexible gas storage and services to customers such as gas producers, power producers, natural gas distribution companies and large end users of natural gas. The company plans on utilizing a proven business model as well as industry standard engineering and procurement technologies to deliver its gas storage services at competitive prices.

Continental Gas Storage BV was established in 2007 and Continental Gas Storage GmbH was established in 2008.

CGS will offer its customers a low-cost unbundled and highly flexible storage product that its customers can deliver at a liquid virtual trading point. This has a number of advantages for the customer because it allows the customer to manage their energy position from a portfolio management perspective. Independence gives CGS a unique position over its competitors by allowing it to offer its customers not only an unbundled high-cycle storage product, but assistance in portfolio management as well.

Please explore our website to learn more about our storage and services and feel free to contact us for more information or in case of questions.

CGS provided Fluor Limited Notice to Proceed April 9th

We are very pleased to inform you that, CGS has provided its Epe plant contractor, Fluor BV of the Haarlem, the Netherlands office, a Limited Notice to Proceed with the Engineering, Procurement and Construction contract.  This notice given to our contractor indicates our team’s resolve in bringing our Epe Project to a successful financial investment decision this summer.  Our working relationship with Fluor engineers is based on a strong mutual respect to internal workings of both organisations. We are very pleased to have reached the next stage in our development.

Rahmenbetriebsplan Permit granted to CGS March 22nd

The German authorities have granted the Rahmenbetriebsplan (“RBP”, Frame Operating Plan) for our Phase 1 developments in Epe. This is a major step forward towards realizing the project. This permit, with its limited conditions, contains among other things, the environmental permit. It is one of three permits necessary for the plant construction and operations, and as the first, “umbrella” permit, it has the largest weighting of importance.
